In this two-day course, you’ll learn hammer veneering with hot hide glue and steam bending. You’ll use both techniques to make a wooden tray with a veneered base and bent handles.

What You’ll Learn

During this two-day course, you’ll make a wooden tray with a veneered base and steam-bent handles.

On the first day, you’ll learn how to prepare hot hide glue and use a veneer hammer to apply wood veneer. You’ll prepare the tray’s frame and veneer its base, then bend the wooden handles using steam.

On the second day, you’ll complete and assemble the frame, shape the tray and apply a shellac finish.

The course includes approximately 16 hours of instruction. Lunch breaks are additional, and we provide a hot meal each day.

Weekend courses start at 9:00 AM.
