Out of love for wood
Craftsmanship and working with wood have always fascinated me. Traditional woodworking has something majestic about it; it teaches perseverance, humility, and develops imagination. Working with hand tools provides immense satisfaction and a sense of agency. It also evokes a feeling of connection with the craftsmen of the past. I admire their knowledge and skills, thanks to which – working exclusively with hand tools – they created beautiful and durable wooden furniture.

Tomisław Bensari
Polish designer and master woodworker, founder and chief craftsman of the design studio Bensari Ébénistes and the woodworking workshop Bensari Workshop. A passionate advocate of traditional woodworking techniques. He is among the artisans featured in the Homo Faber Guide, the international guide to outstanding contemporary craftspeople curated by the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship. A renowned creator of collectible furniture, represented by the New York art gallery STUDIOTWENTYSEVEN.
The only Polish co-author of the prestigious magazine Fine Woodworking, dedicated to traditional woodworking techniques. Finalist of the Dobry Wzór 2024 competition. His works have been featured in numerous industry publications: Elle Decoration France, Design Alive, Label Magazine, White Mad, Salon Polityki, Furniture & Cabinetmaking.
By education, a lawyer, and for many years the CEO of the largest Polish companies specializing in pharmaceutical distribution.
